Air marshals secretly monitored U.S. passengers for years | LA Times

Federal air marshals have for years been quietly monitoring small numbers of U.S. air passengers and reporting on in-flight behavior considered suspicious, even if those individuals have no known terrorism links, the Transportation Security Administration said on Sunday.

Under a sensitive, previously undisclosed program called “Quiet Skies,” the TSA has since 2010 tasked marshals with identifying passengers who raise flags because of travel histories or other factors and conduct secret observations of their actions — including behavior as common as sweating heavily or using the restroom repeatedly — as they fly between U.S. destinations.

The Almost Unbelievable Power of Your Belief System | Entrepreneur

beliefI was horsing around with my dog the other day — I promise this is an article on entrepreneurship — when something extraordinary happened.

We’d been playing tug-of-war with her red doggie blanket when, after 10 minutes of tugging, I finally managed to wrench the festering rag from her clenched, bulldog jowls. I flashed the blanket about like a torero, bowed, then I flipped it behind me and hid it on the small of my back.

Sugar searched frantically for a minute while I sniggered and snarked. Finally, my inner villain satisfied, I dropped her prize in plain view at my feet. Here’s where it gets weird.

Seven Steps to List Tour LA

Lydia List TourWe have had the privilege and pleasure of presenting our program, ‘Seven Steps to Success’ at the List Tour event in Los Angeles and San Diego  We look forward to presenting at again this coming September.

The ‘Seven Steps to Success’ is a practical, intuitive method that you can use to obtain any goal, but in the case of the List Tour, which is full of entrepreneurs, we focused the discussion on starting and growing a business.  The seven steps: idea, visualization, thoughts, actions, methods, friends and circumstances drive home the point that you can only do so much on your own and that the circumstances of success are brought to you by friends.  You attract these friends by your methods: how you will make your product or service, how you will attract your customer, how you will make your operations efficient.

The premise is that people follow people who know where they’re going; they invest in people who know what they are doing.

In both presentations, we were pleased by the energy and the depth of the questions.  ThePeter List Tour presentation will inspire you to start or continue your journey toward the freedom of business ownership.

LaTonya Washington, the founder and operator of the List Tour assembled a great group of presenters who delivered information and inspiration around a number of business topics.  It is a fun day full of valuable and immediately usable information.

We will be at the next List Tour event in Los Angeles.  If you are an entrepreneur or want to be one, you should not miss this event.

In the video above, they talk about their experience.

How to Fire Someone So They’ll Thank You For It | Entrepreneur

In an earlier post, I described how our new CEO determined that we had to fire almost half our team. This sucked for many reasons, but the main one? It was emotional. Firing a terrible person is easy, but how do you fire a good person who is a bad fit in a way that doesn’t hurt them?

That was the next lesson from our new CEO, JT McCormick. He showed us how to fire someone, not just with dignity and respect, but in a way where they actually thank you for the experience. Literally, three of the five people he fired wrote him emails thanking him afterwards.
