Global power company Cummins is exploring how RVers can ease their reliance on gasoline while still enjoying all the off-grid power they need to run camping equipment and accessories at camp. Its new hybrid concept seamlessly blends battery storage and gas-driven generation to decrease noise and emissions while still offering days of power.

Much like RV makers themselves have been doing for years now, Cummins starts its electrical system with a large lithium-ion leisure battery designed to store ample energy for running a variety of onboard camper equipment, on or off grid. Instead of relying solely on solar panels and vehicle alternator charging to keep the 6.7-kWh battery topped off, however, Cummins adds in a 2.8-kW Onan QG 2800i gasoline generator for ensuring the batteries don’t deplete to zero.

Cummins says the combination offers the same amount of overall power as a 5-kW generator but with less noise, emissions and vibration. The batteries operate silently, while the QG 2800i has been designed for efficient operation with less noise and vibration than larger generators. A comparison of spec sheets puts the sound level of the 2800i at 65 dB(A) compared to 69 dB(A) for the 5.5-kW Onan QG 5500 RV generator.

You have to respect Van Leeuwen’s audacity. For the artisanal ice cream chain based out of Brooklyn, the question is never whether one should push the palatable limits of a classically sweet, simple dessert with off-putting flavors and bizarre mix-ins. The question is whether you can.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on who you talk to), the answer to this question is usually a hard yes. Left-field flavors that have graced Van Leeuwen’s freezer shelves in the past include mustard, onion, and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Whether they’re gunning for actual tastiness or viral bait is something you could argue either way. Nevertheless, Van Leeuwen persists.

The Raspberry Rally Girl Scouts cookie, a raspberry-flavored version of the beloved Thin Mint, was always supposed to be a limited edition item. Just not this limited.

The new Girl Scouts cookie sold out in hours. Now, people desperate to try it can search eBay.

The Girl Scouts would really rather you didn’t, though.

In an email addressed to a New York chapter of the Girl Scouts, local leaders said that the “Raspberry Rally cookie sold out in less than a day.” The cookie “proved to be more popular than anticipated,” according to the letter, which was seen by CNN.

March’s full moon will rise on March 7, coinciding with several holidays and festivals around the world.

The Farmer’s Almanac calls March’s full moon the Worm Moon, after the worms that start to come to the surface after the ground begins to thaw in the Northern hemisphere. Many Anishinaabeg, or Ojibwe, Indigenous people of the Great Lakes region knew it as Onaabidin Giizis, or the Snow-Crust Moon, according to the Center for Native American Studies.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury recently announced the approval of four additional state plans under the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) in President Biden’s American Rescue Plan.

The funding will total up to $353.4 million, which brings the total of Treasury-approved state and territory plans to over $7 billion in SSBCI funding. The funds are intended to support small businesses and entrepreneurship by expanding access to capital.

The innermost inner core is thought to be a solid metallic ball around 400 miles across, according to seismologists from the Australian National University.

By studying the seismic waves that pass through the planet during events like earthquakes, seismologists can learn about the interior of the planet. For decades, scientists have debated whether the planet has a solid ball within the inner core, which is composed of an iron-nickel alloy. Now, the researchers say they have support for this idea from studying around 200 earthquakes, each of which created seismic waves that bounced off the core.
