Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world’s busiest, has issued a warning to the US Transportation Safety Administration to get its act together or be replaced.
According to a letter from Hartsfield-Jackson general manager Miguel Southwell to TSA Administrator Peter Neffenger, the airport’s security screening checkpoints are woefully understaffed with no sign of significant improvement in sight.
JetBlue Airways is apologizing for a “computer glitch” it blames for a family being told their 18-month-old daughter was on a government no-fly list.
The FBI has arrested four men belonging to a “fringe militia group” in Georgia for plotting terrorist attacks on “Justice Department officials, federal judges and Internal Revenue Service agents.” And they’re no spring chickens.
The accused men, all from Georgia, were named as Frederick Thomas, 73, of Cleveland; Dan Roberts, 67, of Toccoa; Ray Adams, 65, of Toccoa; and Samuel Crump, 68, also of Toccoa.
Apparently the police in Long Beach, California, have a policy that says if a police officer determines that a photographer is taking photos of something with “no apparent esthetic value,” they can detain them.
Long Beach was my hometown for about 20 years and I can tell you it’s not a good idea to mess with any cop in that town – Ed.
Robert Sayegh was flying back from his cousin’s wedding on Sunday on a Delta flight, when, while complaining about a delay, he used the F-word to a fellow passenger and was promptly kicked off the flight.
If this is the new criteria, I will never be able to fly again – Ed.

For the love of God, they’re running the full body scanners on Windows XP: “The machines run an embedded version of Microsoft Windows XP Xpe that is prone to security vulnerabilities.”
