Watch any feel-good movie, and that nice main character is going to get dumped on at some stage in the movie. Being nice is something we’re taught from birth. When you’re three, you’ve not grasped that barging someone out of the way for the red trike is considered impolite so an adult says “play nice,” and we learn that it’s a good thing.

But fast forward 20 years and suddenly, being too nice can get you in trouble. It can even stop you from earning a good salary, finding true love, or inventing something you believe in.

Unfortunately, it seems that Windows 11 adoption has been slowing in lieu of Windows 10 updates. That’s not always a bad thing and doesn’t necessarily mean Windows 11 is a failure, though.

AdDuplex, an ad network, released statistics on Windows 11 adoption based on their sampling of 60,000 computers running the software. The percentage of users who installed the Windows 10 21H2 update is at 21%. By contrast, almost 20% of Windows PCs have been updated to Windows 11 since its October release.

Remote work comes with plenty of perks–for instance, all that time employees would’ve spent commuting is now being put to better use. But the downsides can be significant, too. Career-development opportunities can be diminished, as mentorship opportunities slip by. And, according to new research, remote workers feel less connected to their colleagues.

A recent study from the Pew Research Center says that 60 percent of those polled felt less connected to their co-workers as a result of working from home. Four percent reported feeling closer to their colleagues thanks to remote work, while 36 percent said they felt no change. The survey was conducted at the end of January and included responses from more than 10,000 individuals.

Cryptocurrency analysts say at least $13.7m (£10.2m) has so far been donated to the Ukrainian war effort through anonymous Bitcoin donations.

Researchers at Elliptic, a blockchain analysis company, say the Ukrainian government, NGOs and volunteer groups have raised the money by advertising their Bitcoin wallet addresses online.

More than 4,000 donations have been made so far, with one unknown donor gifting Bitcoin worth $3m to an NGO.

The median donation is $95.
