World’s largest retailer Walmart is joining forces with the three biggest bottled water suppliers in the U.S. to provide enough water to last 10,000 public schoolkids in Flint, Mich. the remainder of the calendar year.

In partnership with Pepsi , Coca-Cola KO and Nestle , the big-box giant will deliver 6.5 million bottles of water, or 176 truckloads a day, to the crisis-stricken city, where all children under the age of 6 were exposed to toxic, lead-tainted water that may cause life-long damage.

IN THE NOT-SO-DISTANT future, your personal tech will behave like the sun. It will rise and shine brightly in the morning, and set and dim its lights as the day winds down. In a recent preview for iOS 9.3, Apple teased a new feature called Night Shift that does exactly this, automatically altering the color of your screen display to make it orange-colored in the evening. Last month, Amazon released a similar feature, called Blue Shade, in an OS update for its Kindle Fire reading tablets. The new feature lets nighttime users dim the amount of blue light that comes off the Fire’s screen, in favor of a mellow, amber glow.

Tesla shares are getting clobbered: they’re down almost 20% this year after dropping another 3% Tuesday to $191. That’s a far cry from their 2014 peak of nearly $300.

The latest dip is being chalked up to a research note from JP Morgan’s Ryan Brinkman, in which his team reduced its expectations for Tesla’s fourth-quarter earnings. (Compared with the rest of Wall Street JP Morgan is relatively bearish on Tesla: Brinkman’s target price is $180)

Restaurants across the country are having a hard time filling kitchen worker positions, and with no relief in sight, the shortage is likely to change the dining out experience.

“Everyone is opening a restaurant, yet the painful reality is there isn’t enough talent to go around,” said Andrew Freeman, president of restaurant consulting firm AF&Co.

At Dirt Candy, a well-known vegetarian restaurant in New York City, owner Amanda Cohen remembers when she would receive 30-40 resumes for a kitchen job. Sometimes, cooks submitted résumés when there wasn’t an opening.

The remote village of Monomoni, Kenya, is too far from cities and too sparsely populated to be part of the national grid. Now, however, it’s possible to for a family of cow herders or a small business to buy prepaid solar power through a mobile phone.

Powerhive, a startup that builds solar, mobile-connected microgrids—small utilities that are usually built to power around 200 homes—started testing their system in Monomoni in 2012, and began expanding to 100 more rural villages around the country last year, along with others in the rest of the underpowered world. The company raised $11 million in December, and just raised another $20 million to expand even more.

‘Planet Nine’ May Exist: New Evidence for Another World in Our Solar System | Live Science

The mythical “Planet X” may actually be real, and scientists are calling it “Planet Nine.”

Astronomers have found evidence for a planet 10 times more massive than Earth in the far outer solar system, orbiting about 20 times farther from the sun than distant Neptune does.

“This would be a real ninth planet,” one of the researchers, Mike Brown of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, said in a statement. “There have only been two true planets discovered since ancient times, and this would be a third. It’s a pretty substantial chunk of our solar system that’s still out there to be found, which is pretty exciting.”

London’s Black Cabs Turn To Crowdfunding To Fight Uber | TechCrunch

The battle between London’s black cabs and upstart incomer Uber has been a relatively subdued affair thus far — aside from the odd scuffle and some roadblocking demonstrations last year. Not for Brits the violent displays of anger seen over the channel in France last summer.

But despite the lack of open street warfare in London there’s still no love lost between London’s distinctive — and heavily regulated — Black Cabs and the Silicon Valley upstart.

And now a group of London Black Cab supporters, called Action for Cabbies, is hoping to step up the fight by launching a crowdfunding campaign to push for a judicial review of Transport for London’s 2012 decision to grant Uber a licence to operate in the city.

It’s arguing that the procedures followed were wrong and that TfL has subsequently failed to enforce the law. The group is led by Artemis Mercer, the wife of a cabbie, who has also been running a campaign group on Facebook.

UK politicians debate whether to ban Trump from the country | Mashable

LONDON — Members of Parliament have begun debating the issue of banning Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump from the UK.

The scheduled three-hour session was prompted by a petition to ban him from the country as well as a counter petition saying he should be allowed in, after he made a series of controversial remarks.

The debate is being led by Paul Flynn MP, a member of the Petitions Committee. It will be on the motion: “That this House has considered e-petitions 114003 and 114907 relating to the exclusion of Donald Trump from the UK.”
